My quote of the day

And as imagination bodies forth
The forms of things unknown, the poet’s pen
Turns them to shapes and gives to airy nothing
A local habitation and a name.
- William Shakespeare (from A Midsummer Night’s Dream)

I love William Shakespeare.... Such beauty in his words :)

“If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to meet it!” Jonathan Winters

Very cleaver little quote.... The main reason i have selected this quote it because the children i teach swimming to are doing a sponsored swim tomorrow :) Wish them luck :) couldn't be prouder of them all, 4000m and 5000m.... :)

Chris Nielsen: There's a man Ian never got to know, the man he was growing up to be. He's a good-looking clear-eyed fella... about 25. I can see him. He's the type of guy men want to be around, because he has integrity, you know ? He has character. You can't fake that. And he's a guy women want to be around, too. Because there's tenderness in him... respect... and loyalty, and courage. And women respond to that. Makes him a terrific husband, this guy. I see him as a father. That's where he really shines. See, when he looks in his kid's eyes and that kid knows that his dad really, really sees him... he sees who he is. Then that child knows that he is an amazing person. He's quite a guy... that I'll never get to meet. I wish I had.
Chris Nielsen: Thank you for every kindness. Thank you for our children. For the first time I saw them. Thank you for being someone I was always proud to be with. For your guts, for your sweetness. For how you always looked, for how I always wanted to touch you. God, you were my life. I apologize for everytime I ever failed you. Especially this one...
two quotes from one of my favourite books/ movies- what dreams may come, breaks my heart every time

“some birds aren`t ment to be caged... their feathers are just to bright....”
Stephen King, The Shawshank Redemption
I love love love this film, reminds my of a breakfast of tiffanies quote, very different I know, just first thing that came into my head :)
Paul Varjak: You know what's wrong with you, Miss Whoever-You-Are? You're chicken, you've got no guts. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, "Okay, life's a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that's the only chance anybody's got for real happiness." You call yourself a free spirit, a wild thing, and you're terrified somebody's going to stick you in a cage. Well, baby, you're already in that cage. You built it yourself. And it's not bounded in the west by Tulip, Texas, or in the east by Somaliland. It's wherever you go. Because no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself.

  1. I'm a big fan of Shakespeare as well. My daughter rolls her eyes when I see her reading Romeo and Juliet for School and I quote the long passage of "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". I pretend I know the whole thing by heart but I only remember bits and pieces that stuck!

    1. Shakespeare is amazing :) amazing how many quotes of his we use in every day life, I loved Romeo and Juliet, and twelfth night- lol i'm the same- only remember the odd quote :) think some quotes stay with u :)
